To secure an interview, it’s crucial to have a top-notch resume that showcases your skills and experiences effectively. This workshop is designed to assist you in creating a targeted resume that will make you stand out as a job applicant.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to write an attention-grabbing HOT ZONE, target your resume to job descriptions, and use accomplishment statements to demonstrate how you meet the required core competencies in the context of the position you’re applying for. You’ll also learn the PAR (Problem or Task, Action, Result) method for creating accomplishments statements and identify strong verbs and adjectives to bring your achievements and successes to life. To help with your writing, we’ll use the Internet to research occupational profiles.

To make the most of this workshop, it would be useful to have a paper or electronic version of your resume and a way to save your documents electronically. Additionally, if you have a job description for a role you’re interested in applying for, please bring it along.
