Job Description

Are you a youth aged 18 - 30 who is ready to kick off your summer with hands-on experience and practical knowledge that matches your passion? If so, WorkLink Employment Society is pleased to announce the following 2022 Summer Employment Opportunities in conjunction with funding through the Government of Canada, Youth Summer Jobs Program:

Marketing Team Specialist

  • 35 hours/week
  • Monday - Friday | 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • 16 weeks | June - September 2022 

The Marketing Team Support Specialist will play a key role in planning the promotions and communications of the Society's numerous programs and services, while also branding the new Social Enterprise Group.The Specialist will plan, promote, and manage society events based off the marketing calendar and annual business plan breakdown:

  • Attending in person and virtual events (career fairs, summer fairs, employers' forums, etc.);
  • Creating all promotional material and promoting online.
  • Ensuring marketing event kits are stocked with brochures, posters and swag as well as align with the event;
  • Marketing events - i.e. social media, email blasts, Eventbrite, paid advertising, Facebook Lives; and
  • Planning information sessions + reaching out to employers.

Assisting the team in running the employment program's Social Media campaign:Brochures, business cards, etc.; Creates paid advertising; Creates original content and strategy for program; Identifies/customizes promotions when needed; Orders promotions/marketing material; and social media community groups - creates and manages "Langford & Sooke Jobs"

Credentials Required

  • Currently pursuing a career in marketing, social media, communications and/or a related field.
  • Event planning skills and site setup/orientation;
  • Graphic design and content creation skills
  • Social media marketing and Facebook/Instagram advertising;
  • Someone creative, positive and passionate; and
  • Videography experience

Eligibility

  • Able to commit to a flexible schedule
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and self-motivation.
  • All applicants must between the ages of 15-30 at the beginning of employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number & be legally entitled to work in Canada (be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident).
  • The successful candidate must have an outgoing personality and be able to communicate politely and professionally both verbally and in writing.
